Terence Fernando is Of Counsel to the Dugan Law Firm in their Class Action Litigation practice involving prominent pharmaceutical companies for their widespread marketing and distribution of opioids.

Mr. Fernando has over 25 years of legal experience in a wide area of work for both plaintiffs and defendants. These litigations have included subject areas, such as environmental; antitrust; securities; mergers and acquisitions; SEC investigations of social media platforms; Dept. of Justice and FTC investigations involving corporate antitrust violations; U.S. Senate investigations of social media platforms; corporate governance and finance; MDL litigation arising from insurance liability resulting from exposure to toxic material; and pharmaceutical product liability.

Some notable litigations Mr. Fernando had worked on include:

  • IOWA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES’ RETIREMENT SYSTEM, et al. vs. Goldman Sachs, et al, No. 17 Civ. 6221 (KPF) – Securities Lending Class Action regarding antitrust law violations by major international investment banks.
  • In Re: Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. Securities, Derivative and ERISA Litigation, Master File No.: 1:07-cv-9633-JSR-DFE – Arising from false and misleading statements. Settled for $475 M.
  • Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, Office of General Counsel, Philadelphia. Managed multi-district litigation of approximately 40,000 cases as National Coordinating Counsel for all of the company’s liability litigation on behalf of policyholders arising from exposure to hazardous toxic material.

Mr. Fernando has a keen interest in international travel and international relations, and has worked as a legal officer for the United Nations in S. Africa that was over-seeing that country’s first multi-racial elections. He has also followed International Law programs at the Hague Institute for International Law, The Hague, Netherlands.
