Douglas R. Plymale

Dr. Douglas Plymale, M.B.A., J.D., Ph.D. is Of Counsel to the Dugan Law Firm and handles mass tort pharmaceutical and other cases for the firm.

Dr. Douglas Plymale brings a unique perspective to the practice of law as an accomplished scientist who worked for a major pharmaceutical company and Harvard Medical School.  His background as a scientist has been an invaluable asset in litigating difficult cases that hinge on the science and medical issues.

Dr. Plymale has acquired significant experience in litigating product liability, personal injury, and other fields involving death and serious personal injury. Throughout law school, Dr. Plymale worked for the late Wendell H. Gauthier on various personal injury, class action and mass tort cases. Upon graduation he immediately began representing working persons and their families in catastrophic and serious personal injury cases, working with many of the top plaintiff firms in the country.

Over the years, Dr. Plymale has handled thousands of cases against the manufacturers of defective pharmaceutical products such as Darvon, Avandia,Vioxx, Bextra, Celebrex, Rezulin, Baycol, Propulsid, PPA Fen-Phen, Serzone, Meridia, Ephedra, Zyprexa, Levaquin, Digitek, Actimmune, Fosamax, Ortho Evra, Yaz, and Prempro/Premarin; the manufacturers of  defective medical devices including Medtronic pacemakers and defribillators, Guidant pacemakers and defibrillators, Kugel Mesh implants, Zimmer hip and knee implants, Depuy hip implants, and other toxic tort cases such as exposure to welding-rod fumes.
